Transgender Day of Remembrance: We Will Not Be Erased

Date and Time: Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 4 pm - 6 pm
Location: Make the Road New York: 9210 Roosevelt Ave, Jackson Heights, NY 11372

Join Caribbean Equality Project, in partnership with Equality New York, The New Pride Agenda, Queer Detainee Empowerment Project (QDEP), Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI), and Make the Road NY for “Transgender Day of Remembrance: We Will Not Be Erased,” an afternoon of storytelling and performances to honor trans community members lost to transphobic violence and to celebrate trans lives around us.

Our observance of Transgender Day of Remembrance will center on the joys, achievements, and contributions of trans and gender-expansive people to the fabric of our community and collective liberation movements. The program will feature a panel discussion, inspirational affirmations by Black and Brown trans and nonbinary community leaders, and performances to pay tribute to those lost to anti-transgender violence.

The event is being co-organized by Caribbean Equality Project’s Trans Justice Unit, led by Trans Justice Coordinator Tiffany Jade Munroe, and supported by our partners at ConEdison.
