Join us for the 2nd Annual Little Guyana Pride!
Join Caribbean Equality Project and community partners for the 2nd Annual Little Guyana Pride as we celebrate Pride and Caribbean American Heritage Month. This year’s theme, “Rooted in Culture, Immigrant Power,” uplifts Caribbean culture, amplifies LGBTQ+ visibility, and honors the strength of New York City’s diverse diasporic immigrant communities. Together, we’ll share an evening of connection, celebration, and collective empowerment.
Launched in 2025 to mark Caribbean Equality Project’s 10th anniversary and to honor the organization’s origin story, Little Guyana Pride builds on over a decade of organizing in Richmond Hill, Queens—home to vibrant Afro and Indo-Caribbean immigrant communities where CEP first began responding to anti-LGBTQ+ hate violence through storytelling, advocacy, and mutual aid. Over the past eleven years, CEP has grown from a grassroots effort into a recognized movement incubator, creating culturally responsive programs that center safety, healing, and leadership for Caribbean LGBTQ+ New Yorkers in Little Guyana and beyond.
Little Guyana Pride is an annual community celebration rooted in this history. The event brings together Caribbean LGBTQ+ immigrants, allies, families, faith leaders, and community organizations for an evening that centers joy, safety, and cultural pride. Through music, storytelling, and collective gathering, Little Guyana Pride creates a vibrant space where queer and trans Caribbean people are visible, affirmed, and celebrated in the very neighborhood where CEP’s work began.
This year’s celebration, themed “Rooted in Culture, Immigrant Power,” uplifts the rich traditions, languages, and histories of the Caribbean while highlighting the leadership and resilience of LGBTQ+ immigrants in New York City. Attendees can expect cultural performances, resource tables from local organizations, opportunities to connect with advocates and elected officials, and moments of reflection and healing that honor those we’ve lost while celebrating those who continue to lead. Little Guyana Pride is more than an event—it is a community-led act of resistance, remembrance, and love, affirming that Caribbean LGBTQ+ people belong here and deserve to thrive.
Organized in collaboration with trusted government agencies, advocacy organizations, and community partners, this event strengthens solidarity, civic engagement, and collective care while celebrating Pride in Little Guyana, Richmond Hill, Queens.
Thank you for your continued support of our work to protect and uplift Afro and Indo-Caribbean LGBTQ+ New Yorkers.
